Wolfe
Engineering
, was seeking a 7200 Sq. Ft., Class 10,000 cleanroom to be erected
in Austin, Texas , quickly and under budget. Our
design team jumped into action and came up with a plan for constructing
the cleanroom that was favorable to Wolfe and Flowstar. Because of
the budget constraints a pre cut, extruded frame system with plexiglas
panels was used. Flowstar directed the project from our corporate
office working with sub contractors; AIRCO MECHANICAL and ZAPLAC-REED
from Austin, Texas who quickly moved in and completed the job in record
time. All materials and equipment were sent directly to the Austin
site by Flowstar and closely monitored to insure on-time delivery.
With daily phone calls we insured that all phases of the job were
met.

Nanomix of Emeryville,
CA is working on the first commercially available product made using
molecular electronics---Sensors that use nanotube sensing elements on
a silicon chip. They had moved into a new building and were looking
for a cleanroom, approximately 700 Sq. Ft. that could occupy an existing
room in their office area. Flowstar's design staff met with Nanomix
representatives and discussed ways to meet the needs for their cleanroom.
The option selected was to convert an existing room into a cleanroom,
a very cost effective way of having a cleanroom in a short time frame.
Working within the prescribed time limits, Flowstar's installation team
went to work and completed the job on the target date. Nanomix is very
happy with the cleanroom and now has a good looking work environment
that meets their requirements.

Optiva, Inc.
designs and manufactures a new class of self-assembled thin crystal
film (Optiva TCF™) materials specifically designed and formulated for
optical, electro-optical and semiconductor applications. They were looking
for a Class 1000 modular cleanroom with humidity control. Flowstar's
design staff sat down with Optiva and worked out a cleanroom design
that met their requirements, the cleanroom would use the Evolution series,
floor loaded system. Acco mechanical would design the air system and
work in concert with Flowstar to complete the cleanroom. Optiva now
has a work environment in which to produce their crystal film and a
showroom in which customers can see the operation.
